Connect with God, each other, and your purpose.

Rooted is for people in every life stage, wherever they are in their walk with Christ. It provides the opportunity to connect with God and a small group of people. The weekly study will cover foundational elements of your faith: Scripture, prayer, worship, generosity and service.

Rooted is an interactive environment. You’ll circle up with your group for about an hour once a week for 10 weeks. You’ll talk about what God has been revealing to you as you go through the week’s readings, journal entries, and prayer. You’ll also learn from one another, and ask God’s Spirit to comfort, encourage, and guide each person. Your group will share two experiences together outside of your group time: Prayer and serving. After the last session, you’ll join together with all the other groups and celebrate how God is working to connect each of you with your passion, your purpose, and your community.

How has Rooted impacted your life?

“I loved my group! I was apprehensive at first, but even though we were all across a broad spectrum of life experience, we connected in our love for Jesus…”

“I’ve never met such good friends to share this hard journey called life with…we are all so grateful!”

“It forced me to establish an everyday, regular routine of sitting down without distraction to ready, study, and pray.”

We hear stories like this all the time. Imagine what a difference Rooted could make in your life!

FAQs

What’s the difference between Rooted and Life Groups?

Rooted groups are an on-ramp to Life Groups. As you get to know the other people in your group, you’ll share important aspects of your life and journey together over the course of 10 weeks. Rooted groups that can commit to 10 weeks together, are already in a perfect place to start a new Life Group, and so we strongly advise that you try Rooted before joining an open Life Group.

How do I register and what does it cost?

Registration is easy! Once registration is open for the upcoming session, click on the link to register and follow the steps. The course cost is $25 per person, which includes all sessions, your workbook and related materials, along with the Celebration dinner at the end of the 10 weeks. It breaks down to just $2 a week!

Where will my Rooted group meet?

All of our Rooted groups will initially meet/launch from our campus, then decide as a group to meet in different homes or public spaces in the surrounding area. The launch will be held in Heritage Hall Center, and the celebration will be held in the Worship Center.

What if I can’t make all ten weeks?

We understand that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth it to invest in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than 2 meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted. The 10 weeks are a cumulative experience, and so we ask that every participant commit to honor each other with being at every meeting.

Can I lead a Rooted group?

Rooted Facilitators get a front row seat to something remarkable – God transforming lives. However, Rooted leaders must have completed & graduated from Rooted and agree to our leadership commitment. Apply to be a facilitator by completing the “Start a Life Group” Leader Application.

Can my Life Group participate in Rooted together?

Yes, your small group can go through Rooted together! The most effective Rooted group size is 15, so if your group is smaller or larger, we may ask you to include others, or to form multiple groups in order to provide the best-possible experience. Email nextsteps@firstchristian.com to find out how your small group can participate in Rooted together.

Is childcare available?

Childcare is available for children birth – 5th grade onsite for the three Rooted Experiences (Launch, Prayer Experience, and Celebration). Once you register for Rooted, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to register for childcare. Groups are encouraged to collaborate for childcare for offsite meetings.

When do I get my Rooted materials?

You will receive your workbook the first time you meet together with your group. Your leader will have your material and walk you through how to use it.

How will my Rooted group be chosen?

Our Rooted team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 10-14 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage. We form groups of married couples, singles, women, men, and young adults. These groups ultimately depend upon the demographic of those who registered. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups which we think will provide the best experience for all people who attend. While we do our best to honor requests when possible, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate all friend or leader requests.

Are scholarships available?

We believe that Rooted is a life-changing experience and we want everyone to participate…so we’ve taken on a significant amount of the cost to price it affordably! We understand that the Rooted registration fee may be a burden for some and we are hoping to provide scholarships.

Financial aid is available to help those who are experiencing financial hardship but want to be part of the Rooted Experience. If you are in need of a scholarship, please contact nextsteps@firstchristian.com with a brief description of why you are requesting financial aid. Our scholarship team will determine the scholarship amount awarded and you will be notified as to what was awarded to you. At that time, you can complete your registration process.

Hi, I’m Shawn.

My role here with First Christian is to help people take their next steps with Jesus.

I’m really excited to bring Rooted to FCC, because I’ve seen its power in my own life, in the life of my family, and in the lives of people I’ve walked through life with.

There is power found in the practices of Rooted. Power to grow spiritually deeper. Power to build better relationships. Power to break strongholds.

I hope that, by joining a Rooted group, and committing to 10 weeks of intentional time with its practices, that you will get to experience that power for yourself.
