We are BIG believers in providing respite nights to families with children with disabilities (ages 15 and under), so we have partnered with an organization called rEcess in order to be able to offer respites more often!
If you, or someone you know, have a child with a disability, we want to give you a night off! We will offer a respite night on the first Friday of every month coordinating with a school year calendar. Children with special needs are paired one on one with a friend whose sole objective is to make rEcess the best night of their week. rEcess is also a break for our siblings to have lots of fun and connect with other siblings who understand whats its like to have a brother or sister with special needs. We have dedicated sibling volunteers and programming just for siblings!
In order to offer respite to families, we also need the help of dedicated volunteers. If you have any interest in serving these families by being a buddy to a child with a disability, or their sibling, consider volunteering at rEcess. The experience you receive will compare to nothing else you have ever done and the blessing of a night off to these parents is priceless! No experience is needed—we provide training and a meal to all volunteers!
